From my manual:
"Volvo engines require unleaded gas with an (R + M)/2 octane rating of 87 or higher."
...
"For improved performance, we recommend the use of premium unleaded gas ⏧ or higher]"
Strange as I had expected Volvo would recommend a higher octane for a turbo. 87 is the cheapest you can get and although the car runs fine, it seems to run better on 89.
I had been running 89 octane for a few tanks and then I went back to 87 ... my car seemed sluggish.
I guess it could be retarding the timing while using the 87 octane..?
