I'd like to start by saying Hi to everyone here. I've been poking around and reading threads for a few months now since I bought my Volvo (first Volvo, hope to get more). I feel bad not being able to contribute to others, and now needing help from everyone. Hopefully I can repay everyone in the future.
Saturday of last week my wife called me and said that the car had sputtered twice taking off from a stoplight. She described it as almost dying and then catching up. It went through this cycle twice, then cleaered up enough to "limp home", and the check engine light came on.
I retrieved the diagnostic code as 1-2-1, which is the Air Mass Meter. In the FAQ's it says that it could be a wiring fault, but then I also read in a reply from ChrissiJ in another thread the car is too young to have that kind of problem. I'd have to agree since the car has always been garage kept and has 140,000 miles on it. I don't see any holes in the Intercooler hoses, and I'm not sure what to do except to order a new AMM. Are there any other checks I should perform before ordering the part?
Thanks for the wonderful community you guys have created here,
-Terry
