I just want to thank all the people on this board and all the people that helped to put the 700/900 FAQ together, it's a great resource.
Most of the time when I have a problem with one of my cars, I don't have time to do a lot of research. I'm normally fighting darkness, cold, or rain and I'm in a bind to get the car running again because we are one car short if I don't. I ask my question and then go back out and try to fix the car while I'm waiting for a reply.
There is nothing worse than someone coming back with "have you read the FAQ?". To me that was not an answer because I'm always in a hurry. With that being said I have to say that I did read through the FAQ over the last few days and I find it an AWESOME collection wisdom. We as Volvo owners have no idea what a valuable tool this site and that FAQ are.
I was able to repair the MCC control unit in my '91 754 instead of replacing it, all because of the FAQ. Even more important, having read the FAQ many of the questions I would have asked here are already answered in great detail. This information gives me a jump on the next problem because I already have a general knowledge of "issues" this car may have to deal with. Thats very comforting when a problem comes up while on the road. I don't panic. I just start thinking to myself "you read a post about this last week, last month, yesterday" and then I troubleshoot the problem and fix it ----- it's a great feeling.
So if I every refer any of you to the FAQ it's only because I know it'll make you better at find out whats wrong with your car. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!
Thanks,
Tony T
