240 GL driver's side door lock problem 200 1984

Hi,

I'm new to this board but my father has posted here fairly frequently and recommended the site to me.

My old volvo (by the name of Spongebob Squarecar) generally takes care of me very well. However, entropy has set in and lots of little things are failing. My driver's side door lock will rarely open with the key anymore. Sometimes (in cooler weather it seems) if I turn a little harder on the key the lock will pop up. All of the other door locks will pop up when I try to unlock the driver's side door, even if the driver's side lock doesn't unlock all the way. Anyone had a similar problem? Is this something graphite lubricant could fix?

Any advice would be well appreciated...
