AC Control Knob/thermostat 200

My 1986 245 beloved brick has strong, cold AC but only after about a 15 minute wait or 10 miles of city driving, 'til all the circuit elements are in the go sequence. My mechanic says it's not worth it to replace the switch but suggests installing a add-on manual (switch) to energize the AC compressor clutch right from the get-go. Thinking of using the currently unused fog light switch just below the headlight switch. not sure where I can tap into power supply wire to the clutch, Anyone been this route? Thanks for taking the time to reply. floribunda aka jilgenfritzii@verizon.net
