engine whirrrring??? 700 1990

I recently did a timing belt/balance shaft/cam seals job (thanks to info posted by the experts). Now my 16v DOHC seams to be whirring. I really don't know how to be more descriptive. It has the auto tensioner so I am perplexed. Did I do something wrong? Please advise.
