V70 AWD ABS module replaced/Check Engine light still on S90-V90

I just had the ABS module repaired (after about a year of on/off lights on the dash warning me that the sky was falling). Took out the old one, mailed if off to this fellow in CA (Vic Rocha) who repaired it for much less than purchasing a new one. The mechanic put it back in and drove it around to make sure all was well. Ran great - only problem is the Check Engine light won't go off. He says it's an MIL Malfunction (problem with the Check Engine light?), and he didn't have time to research it just then because he was going on vacation. Ever heard of this, and can it be fixed easily or do I need another part?
