What ratio does mileage counter run on '75 245?

My 1975 245 has a little box run by a small speedo type cable. I believe it counts the mileage to keep track of when service is needed or something. Does anyone know how many revolutions per mile this little cable turns or how many revolutions per main speedometer cable revolution? I am thinking about using it to drive a vehicle speed sensor.
