1987-740 8 cyl non turbo power distribution wire broke off at battery. Looking for best fix.

Hi,
THis is where the power feed for the car is attached to the positive battery cable. It broke off at the cable end. I have it jerry rigged with something that I bought at home depot right now. Its just something that I was able to bolt onto the positive cable and clamp the wires inside. But now Im looking for a permanent fix.

I found this part at the wreckers, but its from a 90-740 and the wires are smaller guage(about 10 or 12, I think the original wires are about 8 guage. could I get away with using this?
