a/c shut off 700 1988

I have a 88 760T and the a/c shutoff has a problem. slowly over the summer it has become more sensitive and now i cant go over 60mph without it shuting off the whole time. pushing the gas pedal down 1/4 inch will turn it off. Is there a way to adjust, or even better bypass or remove the shutoff?
