Fuel the fire! 700 1990

I have a problem I can not figure out. When the fuel guage gets below 1/2 the car starts acting up as if it is running out of fuel. I fill it up and it runs great until just below 1/2 again??????

I have replaced the fuel pump in the tank, resoldered all the connections and replaced all the hoses. Since then I have taken the canister out four times just to verify that everything was connected. And yes, it is lined up in reference to the tank.

What am I missing??? I suspect a possible pinhole in the feed hose but can not find it.

Please give me some feed back. It has to be something real dumb that I have missed.
