Gas seems stuck at $2.50US/gal.

I want to do a dual-fuel LPG/gasoline conversion on my '74 k-jet. It may not be possible since the throttle butterfly is so far upstream.

The tank, shutoff, tank blowoff, lines, regulators, and fillers all seem pretty straighforward.

It is the actual interface to the intake stream that is the question. I have seen the collar type "injector" which seems to be mounted just outside the butterfly valve. I assume this to be modulated by airflow. On LH-jet cars it seems to be inside the AMM between it and the throttle.

Even if it had poor throttle response, do you think it would be dangerous to run LPG all the way through the plenum to the cylinder?

Maybe there are vacuum actuated LPG injectors I could mount nearer to the head, through the manifold, and keep the k-jet injectors in their bosses.

There are LPG systems that pick up the injector pulse, and might work with d-jet, but that doesn't help me.

If all this is nutty, pleas advise me of any specifics you know about what carbs and manifolds would work. I suppose the feed goes just outside the carbs on SU setups.

Th principle here is to avoid electronics and expense. It bothers me enough that I cannot have a mechanical fuel pump capable of a steady 70psi.
