940 radio replace? 900

814-cr radio in 940T SW has static associated with vol control and only cass w/no CD so I have decided to replace, need advice? Tried to buy w/installation at Circut City and bunch of hassel about special kits for harness/plug-in they did not have? 60 min. tint is talking about 60$ worth of kits for installation? I can not be first person to replace 940 radio, what's the dealinfo?
