heres the deal. a family member of mine is selling me his 1984 244 ti that recently stopped running (5 months ago). he took it to his tech and the tech told him that his radiator clogged causing the car to run hot bend valves, and that he needed to have a valve job and buy a new radiator. i thought this (bending valves) was not possible with this motor? anyway,he went to crank it the other day and it ran only with the gas pedal pressed. whats up?

also the car does have low compression, not exactly sure how low but it will start and idle it just does not have enough compression to drive.am i in for more problems down the road? i am looking to make this my dialy driver since my 850 needs a trans right now and thats a little pricey.i dont mind having to nickel and dime for awhile to keep this 244 road worthy since it only has 130k original miles and i'll be the 3rd owner. thanks
