1990 240DL Volvo Wagon stalling. 200

I have a 1990 240 DL volvo Wagon.

It will start and drive for about 10 min then it dies, like if the alternator went out.
I can wait about 3-5 min then start it back up .
I can smell a burning rubber smell.
and when it is rev'd up It sounds as though a belt is loose.
I checked all the belts they are fine. everything is turning , and I only hear the sound when it is reved up.

any clues?
