Some whining when accelerating from zero 900

Hello,

First, I drive a 1992 965 with 315.000 kilometres (or almost 197.000 miles). It is due for a maintenance.

Lately, I hear a some whining when I accelerate from a stop. It's not loud, and I can't really tell whether it's coming from the engine or the car itself. It seems to be following the rpm's, but I'm not sure. The sound seems to die at about 20km/h, and I can't hear it when I accelerate while driving.

Could it be the alternator belt?
