Bilstein HDs vs Konis - Value for money 200

Ok, I know I currently have no value and a rooted fuel system. I'm probably going to have to unclog and replace just about every component after driving for a year with a very rusted out tank. The fuel filter looked like I'd been running coffee through it their was that much sediment when I changed it. I just replaced the main pump I killed and I think I F*#ked the CPR and more into the bargain.

I've replaced the tank now, but I don't think I'll be going anywhere till I have time to really get my hands dirty sorting out the KJet system. While I wait for my student allowance to come through, I am free to let my wander to the car I want to eventually want to own. If I don't have an eventual goal, then working on the basic getting it to go stuff seems pointless.

I want to budget for my summer project, when I have a job again. Next major project will be my suspension. Money isn't really an object, I'm happy to work some more overtime if it will get me a nicer car. The brick is a labour of love, I'm happy to spend serious money on it, as soon as funds available.

I'm going to replace all the old bushings with urothene, get some heavier swaybars, stiffer springs (not nessesarly lowered) and replace the shocks. I think I want to go either Bilstein HDs or Konis, based on what everyone has said about their performance. I want something that rides nice and smooth on the open road, but which will also corner flat under hard throttle. Konis seem to cost more than the high end bilsteins, does the extra money translate into additional performance when you decide to floor it through a roundabout?

It will be a couple of months before I can actually upgrade my suspension, but I would like to know what I'm working toward.
