I just recently installed an aftermarket MSD coil and ignition system
in my 65 122s. During installation, we encountered a problem where the
engine wouldnt shut off, this problem was addressed in the installation
manual and we put a diode in between the voltage regulator and the charging
light (the amp light) wire. This seemed to work well, the car runs beautifully
, I have more power and much better gas mileage and a much better feel to it.
Unfortunately, the amp light would constantly stay bright red (not the
glowing, fading red when you are running your bright lights, stereo and
heater at the same time). The car wouldnt start on me last nite, so I
jumped it off with no issues. It completely wont start this afternoon. This
is the first sunny day we have had in a week, and I was itching to hit the
proverbial road. Can you guys think of what I might outta do?
One other odd thing... the horn that has never worked sometimes beeps
when I make sharp right turns. Im thinking I may be getting some kind of
voltage leak, so Ive already disconnected it; different project for a
different day.. or is it?
