'new' 244 and a couple of problems. 200 1992

I semi-new to this forum(have lurked in the background for a couple of years). I gave my 91 740 away last year(367,000 miles)and have been wanting a 244 ever since. Last Friday I bought a sharp dark green 1992 244 w/ 137,000 miles. After purchasing, I replaced the timing belt, front seals, rear main seal, all V-belts, plugs, plug wires, distributer stuff, flushed AT, and flushed radiator. I will be replacing the suspension stuff later. One problem that exists with the car is starting when warmed up. When I start the car first thing in the morning, it turns over and cranks right up. After it has ran for awhile or if I wait until the outside temperature soars(been around 90-95 lately), it takes a few turns of the key and engine to fire up. I am thinking check valve or fuel pump maybe. Or could I possibly have messed up the timing while changing the belt. The other problem (not really, just a concern), is the temperature gauge. When I first start the car and drive it takes a good while (15-30 minutes) for the gauge to change from the bottom, it will the go way up (about an 1/8" for the redline), it constantly fluctuates Hi or Low with no happy medium. If anyone has any advice on these issues, it would be greatly appreciated.
