90 745 16V 200K

First problem, started about a month ago is that it randomly wouldn't start: No click, no crank. When I turn the key the dash lights change as if it's expecting to start. If I touch a wire from the positive battery terminal to the signal pin on the solenoid it will start, or crank anyway. If I let it sit for an hour or two it usually would start right up. Is there a relay getting hot somewhere?

Now it won't charge. I just cleaned my battery terminals and checked all the obvious connections and it won't charge. Battery measures 10 volts and the alternator won't keep it running. My battery terminals were badly corroded, would that cause an old alternator to die?


Something I've noticed about problems like these that seem to occur about the same time with two different things is that they're probably related.
