I have finally gotten the 1988 Sedan from the project stage to the driving on a regular basis stage. One thing I have noticed since I bought the car is the automatic transmission. It shifts very nice and firm in 1st, 2nd and 4th gear. If I run the rpm's high enough (about 3000-4000) and manually shift it, it is also firm. If I let the car shift when it wants, it just seems to "slide" into 3rd gear. I KNOW the kickdown cable is WAY out of adjustment (or needs replaced). I have been wanting to do a transmission fluid "power flush" but the weather here in the desert southwest has not permitted.
My question, will a power flush most likely fix the problem or is there something more serious I need to look at. I have not checked the tranny mount (because 3 out of 4 gears shift very firmly and nice). Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Thank you to all of those people who sent me parts. I really appreciated the help.
Todd :-)
