installing aftermarket stereo 700 1989

i have a 1989 volvo 740 turbo wagon.

i have an after market stereo i want to put in.

have the mounting kit, and wiring kit.

it askes that i find the amplifer, located about the drivers left knee.

i see no such amplifier.

question is, wondering it his car has one?

the stereo is model TD6141 a stereo cassttee deck.

i has a round six plug connector, that is supposed to head to the amplifier.

but as i say, can't find one.

not sure how to workaround this... without installing or slicing into the speaker wires somehow...
