I have a '87 740 GLE that has an interesting problem. When the fuel level is low, the car takes longer to start than when the tank is full. Meaning, the car cranks more times before firing up when the fuel level is low.
On a side note, I'm also trying to troubleshoot some interesting acceleration issues. When the car is cold, and the outside temp is cool, the car has a difficult time accelerating. Once it gets past 3500rpm, it accelerates normally until it shifts, where again, it has a hard time. Once the car is warmed up, the issue goes away.
I believe these issues are related, however I'm not sure how to check for them. I've replaced the maf which made no change. It's got a new harness, new plugs, and good wires. Anyone have any ideas?
PS. MPG is about 20
