Hey brickheads...with the price of gas climbing, I am seriosuly considering a propane/gas mixture conversion for the old brick. If we see $4 per gallon for premium I may actually turn this talk into action. Over the years I have seen mention of this on here before, and would like some specifics. I would like to know what manufacturers make these kits. Also would i be able to use a forklift style tank for the system as I think it would sit nicely in the rear of the trunk. Also how does one monitor the level of LPG in the tank? How far can one expect to go on a gallon (whatever the weight conversion is) of LPG so that I can calculate the economics of this conversion. would the kit be transferable to another brick say a late model 940T that I have been eying? I am currently getting ~15mpg city due to my extremely short commute ~3miles in traffic and around 25-27mpg highway. This seems like a cool alternative to minimize my looses on gas consumption plus i like the idea of stickin' it to da man on the tax end of things. Any thoughts on the function of the system are welcome, and please spare me the comments on LPG packing less of a punch than gasoline...duhhh I am looking to see at what point it will be worth the conversion so propane MPG and cost per gallon are key...not a discussion of the virtures of gasoline...as i am aware of them. thanks .
