Weird odometer problems. It's driving me insane!!! 700

Hi everyone,

I've been having odometer issues with my '91 745T. The original odo and speedo started acting up this year after I took the car out of winter storage. I ended up reciently replacing the original cluster with one out of a '92 740 after I unsuccessfully tried one out of a '94 944. The speedometer works fine in the 'new' '92 cluster, but the odometer is not functioning properly. I have a ~30 min commute from home to the city and the odometer usually doesn't budge until I'm 3/4 of the way (mostly hwy) to or from the city (the car sits for a few hours in between). I've tried getting it to unstick by playing with the trip odo button, but it seems to have no effect. I've also tried the service light button, but neither of these explain or effect the intermitent functioning. I'm really starting to get annoyed. I hate loosing miles, as I don't know when exactly it needs service (I have an idea) and I believe I've missed the 300K km mildstone as the original odo stopped around 296K :( That REALLY pissed me off, agh. Anyway, I'd really just like to have a working odo to go along with my working speedo. All this trouble and a few other annoying problems have been convincing me lately that maybe it's time for a newer Volvo. I'd love to have a '96+ 960/S/V90, but they don't quite handle like my lowered/ipd swayed/braced 745T, they're more expensive to own generally and it's REAL hard for me to let go of my 1st car/1st Volvo! I'd miss it so much, but maybe it's time.......As a side note, my '91 745 NA (regina) is doing fantastic (knock on wood) at 406K km :)
