Check engine light, reset 200

As Ken says, the car year year makes a difference.

The Check Engine light can reset by removing the constant voltage supply to the Fuel and Ignition ECUs.

Disconnecting the Battery negative terminal will do it, but you also lose the radio presets.

Better to remove the 25 amp blade fuse near the PS reservoir ('85 thru '90),
or Fuse box #6 for '91 thru '93.
