back-fire when cold 200

Here in Canada an '82 is a K-jet engine. A cold running backfire is an idication of a lean mixture, which could be a leak in the system downstream of the sensor plate, or more likely the warm-up regulator is failing.
If the engine idles well when hot, I would suspect the warm up regulator.
