I have had no problems with this sensor (fan switch) that is with the grommet. I changed the sensor once along with the grommet and it stayed put!!! even without threads..I just changed my radiator and ditto the same. Is your grommet new? or is it hard? also do not lubricate ..and are you inserting it fully. Beyond that I really cannot suggest anything. Good luck..Paul R
