electronic ingition conversion question 120-130

Dave,
The cost difference certainly makes the Apogee kit an attractive alternative, but since it doesn't eliminate the points, I wonder how well it deals with worn distributors that have wobbly shafts, which, supposedly, is one of the selling points of the Crane, Petronix, and similar units? Apogee claims that their kits reduce point wear, and that may well be so, but the need to replace points periodically still remains. The question is, how often, although as far as I'm concerned, replacing points every few years is no big deal. Nevertheless, not having to do so is another selling point of the others. It would be interesting to have some reports on experience over time in this regard.
Bob S.
