Dave,
I have a '75 B-20 installed in my PV; it came with the oem Bosch alternator. I still need to wire up everything under my hood. I wasn't able to salvage the oem regulator from the donor car, but I have recently purchased a replacement electronic regulator from FCP Grottan. I was wondering if you could help me with a wiring diagram or a description of how to wire this up in my car. I haven't looked at the terminals on the back of the alternator in quite some time and I'm drawing a blank WRT the terminals on the regulator. I believe there is a big terminal on the alt (output?) and perhaps two male spades in a recessed cavity. I presume one of the spades is the field and the other is for the idiot light? I can't recall what's on the regulator. I'm aware that the output from the alternator should loop over to the battery terminal on the starter. But I'm not sure what terminal (on the alt or the reg) gets hooked up the the idiot light in the dash. Any insight you (or anyone else) could share would be appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Joe in St Louis
