The 4 speed shaft is way too long for the automatic, you could use the back half, providing both are the same type, ie rubber big doughnut or twin pin type. Changing the UJ's isn't hard, take 3 ujs + 1 spare just in case, a bench vise, circlip pliers and a copper/hide mallet.
