As George said... Machine the washer seats of the two different manifolds to the same thickness. I did this on my 1800 about 6 years ago and it works sooooo much beter than screwing with half washers. Just bolt the two manifolds down to the table (in the same configuration they will be on the engine) on a milling machine and cut the seats with a long end mill.
