...could be that the cold is affecting the Ignition Power Stage.
Are you getting spark on these no-starts, Jessie? The Crank Sensor and Ignition CU must be working OK if the Fuel is pumping. But the final "stage" in the ignition sequence is triggering of the coil by the Power Stage (aka Ignition Amplifier) to generate the spark voltage.
The ICU has no way of knowing whether the Power Stage works or not. But a failing one will sure give you a no-start with wet plugs. You could swap in the one from the '89 if it's the same EZK Bosch system usually paired with LH2.4.
I think the surface where the PS mounts to the inner fender sometimes needs cleaning off and fresh heat sink grease applied -- but that's more relevant to a hot stalling in warm weather.
