Fixed by Installing Original Dizzy... What about my milage? Which replacement Unit? 120-130

Yeah, coil must be fine then.

Is it possible the chopper wheel in the distributor was either slipping on the distributor shaft? Those chopper wheels are rather generic, they don't always fit right on the shaft. The kits come with several styles, none which seem to be 'perfect' for a Volvo/Bosch distributor. The repeated need to re-time the thing to keep it going makes me suspect something odd like that was going on.

Or perhaps the chopper wheel was rubbing on the optical sensor? Over a few miles this can cloud the little lens, eventually it can't 'see' the chopper wheel gaps any more. Or anything else floating around in the dist like dust, oil, whatever, that could cloud the optical sensor eye.
