AC cuts out when accelerating 700 1990

Hey, long time no post! 1990 780 4-cyl turbo. Just charged AC for first time on this car and blows cold, but fan cuts out under acceleration, then comes back as load decreases. Have looked all over the 7-900 FAQs and searches, and refers to AC troubleshooting in FAQs---but I'll be darned if I can find AC FAQ's--must have the keyboard stupids. I hear this is frequent problem, and I believe this is a low vacuum reaction under load, but where to go from here? Thanks a lot, Bruce
