While the head is off - B30 140-160 1971

Well I'm dropping off $400 today to get them started on the work and I trust these guys (they did my brakes already too). Here's what I want:

To make sure that everything that can be done with the head off is done. I bought this car 3 months ago and I don't trust anything that was done before I got it. I want to try as hard as I can to make sure the internals are solid before putting the head back on so I can drive it with confidence.

Of course I bought it cheap, and was told it just had a charging issue with the alternator. Well it's always more thats wrong with it - it IS an old car after all.... Most I can do myself but I'm squirrely about internal engine work. I rebuilt the carbs, installed the alternator and waterpump myself, checked compression, etc so I have a degree of knowledge but nothing on the scale of small tolerances that internal engine work requires.

Some more low end torque power would be good but I'd be happy with the stock. I'd spend a couple hundred bucks on top of what the rest will cost me - if I bought a new higher performance cam from IPD I'd just have to get new lifters and valves too?
