Dr. Chip's (aka Dr. Dad) V90 has changed hands and is now residing 200 miles NW of it's old home. Now sporting a fresh new set of Nokian Hakkapeliita R snows it made a round robin trip of 500+ miles yesterday. We left frigid Central NY at 3 degrees F., dropped off a gas Jetta my Audi/VW pal had replaced with a diesel and then down to Central NJ to see my ailing Dad. From there to an antique airplane restoration facility down by Trenton to drop off some stuff for a customer. Next stop was an amazing used/new tire operation in PA my friend had discovered via evilbay. He bought some new Michelin Pilot Alpin 215/65 x 15 snow tires for $185 for 4! I almost wished I hadn't dropped $525 for my 195/65 x 15 R's last week! The contact patch would have been a little big and the dia. off but a great deal!
He lives way out "in the sticks" and likes them on the rough back woods roads on his 5 cyl. Audi S4's. With a heavy foot and 10-15 mins. idling the V90 still returned 22 MPG.
