heater/cooling sys issue and diff noise 700 1986

mods feel free to edit and post accordingly. since i have 2 totally diffrent issues at hand im just going to post in the "general"

ok first issue at hand:

after i noticed a slight coolant leak from the heater tube where it mates to the water pump i had gotten a bottle of stopleak and it seemed to work untill i get around to fixing the oring.

my issue is now number one is that the heat is not blowing as hot as before id say around 50 percent. it also smells like someone urinated and the common antifreeze smell(rubber fart like smell) but it only smells if i have the heater on 4. it goes away if i turn the fan completely off. there is no visable leaks and no wetness indicating a failing heater core.

is this the control valve indicating its about to fail? thermostat?

btw temp. still remains halfway and coolantwise id still assume a leak is going on because i have to refill the res. tank every few days.

second issue at hand on a diffrent note is with the rear end:
when i accelerate on occasion id get the vibration but only at slow speeds. it deminishes and nothing is noticable at higher speeds. i had someone look at the driveline and he stated that everything seems good and no play or ujoint issues EXCEPT a fluid leak at the pinion. tailshaft bushing? bad diff? its hard to distinguish where exactly the noise is coming from because it does it only when driving slow and only upon acceleration and is extremely intermittent. the tech also mentioned that while turning the rear wheels he heard a slight click clack from the diff area.

any suggestions? im completely in the air here ive already tried to pinpoint alot

btw i have a 1986 740 wagon GLE non turbo
thanks
