Rick;

Your Coil/Armored cable/Ignition Switch is unlike what is common, but it is certainly not alien to vintage Volvos. As it suggests in the 6V to 12V conversion article ( http://www.sw-em.com/Vintage_Volvo_6V_to12V_conversion.htm ), the simplest way to handle the Ignition coil when doing the conversion is to change over to a 12V Coil/Armored cable/Ignition Switch assembly from a later 12V vehicle. If you decide to do something other, you will have to do the engineering of the conversion.

Here is additional info which may help: http://www.sw-em.com/Volvo%20Ignition%20from%20Scratch.htm#Vintage%20Volvo%20Ignition%20system%20and%20the%20Armored%20Cable

Good Hunting!
