Crank Position Sensor Testing - Intermittent no start again Ugh 700 1990

It ended up being my fuel pump relay. I tapped on it and car started. I put in a replacement. I guess I need another backup now. Thanks for advice. I am still going to check out all the voltages at some point to aid my trouble shooting in the future. I read that a "logic probe" can be used to see the pulses of the CPS back probing at the connection with the wiring harness. Frys sells one on line at two different Hz ratings up to about 30 dollars. Once I figure out which one I need I am going to get one and see if I can test my CPS. I am also going to put in an old bad cps and hopefully I will see no pulses. I recently bought book by Tracy Martin How to Diagnose and Repair Automotive electrical systems. I am learning alot. Hopefully, I can stop being a parts changer and more of a problem solver.
