• Right. The Service Socket is "Teed" off the line from switch to Solenoid 50. But the "T" is before the NSS switch. So if that's flakey it could block the voltage from getting thru to Solenoid 50.
2. "And to test the starter: Running a wire from the Solenoid terminal 50 to the battery..."
• Not quite. This test by-passes the switch, so you want to just "tap" it on Battery +, with the other end connected to Solenoid 50. To be safe, have the Key OFF. Because if the key is in KPII, it might just start if the solenoid works off the battery jumper.
