You may be on to something... 700 1992

If the car starts/runs better with front end up(and gas now at different angle in the tank) I would be suspectin the in-tank pump hose connection has come loose or had a hose burst. Can't see what other impact the front raised would make. How much fuel do you have in the tank now? Have you noted a correlation between fuel tank level and the crank no-start?
Were it me, I would disassemble all the crap that is in between me and pump/electrical connection thereto. So next time she cranks and doesn't catch I can unplug the connector to the pump, have someone else crank whilst I check for +12volts to the pump. Leave it off till you resolve this issue....as you may be diving in there anyway.
I am off to fight with my 940's exhaust/flange and drink beer!
