73 ES idle 1800

When I stop after a sustained cruise my idle will run about 200 rpm higher than it should. After I stop and idle for a few minutes it starts to slowly drift down and finally reaches 900 rpm and stays there. This process repeats each time I drive a while and stop.

When I first start up hot or cold idle will be very stable at 900. But will always repeat the above cycle when I drive and stop. No apparent vacuum leaks and once it stabilizes will idle all day at 900.

Any ideas?
