Lost my replacement ignition key, what to do? 700

I have a 1990 764ti that I'm trying to keep on the road as long as possible. Unfortunately, I recently lost my keys. Now I know that I can take my VIN down to the dealer and get a new key cut, but that's just gonna give me a key that will lock and unlock the doors. I bought the car used and it already had the different ignition key installed. So basically, I'm wondering if there's any practical way, short of destroying my steering column, of installing a new key, or at least starting it and unlocking the steering column.

What are my options?
