This comes up often. In short, only you can decide.
Cons:
Much more complex
Interference engine with more complex timing belt change
New and used part more rare
More expensive IRS
Computer controlled transmission with multiple fault paths
Short production run with very, very low sales numbers in the US
Poorly maintained, hard if not impossible to bring back to "stage 0"
Pros:
Smooth as silk
Much more powerful than an stock 240
Much better interior
Quiet...oh so much more quiet
No used market at all...hence the low purchase price
Still more DIY friendly than FWD/AWD and much more than 2001+ Volvo's
Impeccably maintained can still last more than 200K
I think that covers it all.
