CEL and 2-1-2 fault code 900 1995

The Check Engine light came on recently on our daughter's 1995 945 turbo, so I ran a diagnostic check for fault codes, which came up 2-1-2 for missing or faulty oxygen sensor signal. I cleared it, and drove it daily for the last couple of weeks to see if the fault and CEL would come on again. It hasn't, and I haven't noticed a reduction in performance. I am wondering if it was an aberrant signal or if I should expect a failure of the sensor to occur soon; it should be the original. Any reason to do anything else at the present time besides wait until the fault comes on again and becomes persistent? I thought about checking voltages or cleaning contacts on the connector,or even replacing the sensor, but have followed don't fix if not broken. If I should be proactive, any advice much appreciated. Thanks and have a good day/night/etc.
