I have pulled the head on a B234F. It is a dual cam with the cam lobes driving the hydraulic lifters directly, so no rocker arms. The hydraulic lifters make this diagnosis dificult. If one or both of the 2 exhaust valves are stuck, hope they are not stuck too far down as the piston will interfere and bend them. A stuck and bent exhaust valve is pretty likely with this engine. I think the best non-invasive diagnosis is the leak down test as Don Foster suggested. Let us know what you find.
