On my way home from work yesterday I stopped at the video store. When I started up the car again it idled perfectly, but when I pressed the gas pedal it stalled. I started it up again - same thing. Each time I tried to set off the engine stalled or almost stalled. Eventually (after about 10 minutes) the problem went away.
The check engine light is on and the codes say there is a problem with the air mass meter (1-2-1). I've learned though that these codes are sometimes indicative of efects rather than causes. Also when i did have a problem with my AMM in my Saab 9000 the problem was totally different - uneven idling when cold. My understanding is that the AMM does not play much of a role when the engine is warm - which it was at the time. I suspect some sort of electrical problem. It was fine when I started it up this morning.
Anybody out there have any ideas where to start looking?
Also, i don't know if this is related, but over the last few weeks it's had a problem where if you start it up and then, say, reverse out of a parking space it will stall when you stop reversing sometimes.
TIA
