point and dwell adjustment.... 1800 70

Having never owned a car without an electronic ignition, point adjustment is uncharted teritory. Is this done with a typical feeler gauge? or something more excotic? and can I assusme the angle is correct if the gap is? Mike H. was kind enough to give the angle and gap settings, so any pointers or tricks on the actual procedure would be greatly apprec. BTW the shifting prob I was having was taken care of by a simple cable aduj. and fluid change. thanx for the help.
