According to the Group 39 Electrical Wiring manual, the voltmeter is hooked up in a daisy chain setup in line with the clock/tach, OP & any other gauge...

Illumination to Brown wire of dash lights so it dims w/ the rest

Black Ground to Center console upper left corner along with the rest of the grounds

+12 to Fuse 4/5 6/7 or 8(tank pump/main pump & clock fuses)
